HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED AND WORK OUT THROUGH MOTHERHOOD.

It can be tempting to give up on your old fitness routine once you become a mother. Your priorities shift and most of your attention is focused on loving and nurturing someone other than yourself. In between housework, bathing, meal preparation, and all the other little things, working out is simply not at the top of your list.

There are likely multiple reasons why you feel so tired, such as the lack of sleep and time for healthy eating. However, it is crucial to keep in mind that a normal exercise routine has numerous health benefits and can directly enhance your mental and physical well-being.

No more excuses: it’s time to get clever and use the following strategies to create your workout game plan:

1. Reduce the Length of your Workout

Spending an hour on the treadmill or at a HIIT class might not be a luxury you have anymore. In this case, a shortened workout is always better than one that never happened. Short workouts improve energy and mood as effectively as longer workouts.

You might find that a 15 or 20 minute walk in the great outdoors will leave you refreshed and energized enough to keep you alert and active throughout the day.

2. Add vitamins and supplements to your plan

Vitamins and bodybuilding supplements can give you a consistent boost of energy and aid you in your fitness journey. There are a variety of supplements that will give you the energy you need to get through a workout and achieve your goals, whilst improving your overall health. As well as this, bodybuilding supplements can help build muscle quicker and increase the rate you lose fat.

3. Schedule Morning Workouts

More often than not, exercise gets shoved at the bottom of the priority list as the day unfolds. Try scheduling an early morning or late evening workout, when the kids are in bed. This could be a wise way to make time for your workout and ensure you don’t miss it due to the many issues that can arise during the day.

4. Recognize that the World is your Gym

If you find yourself constantly sitting on the couch and watching reruns of your favorite show, then keep this tactic in mind. The gym is not the only place you can work out and you need to start associating everyday places with exercise.

There are multiple opportunities to incorporate exercise into your everyday routine, including taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking instead of taking the bus, or even just doing jumping jacks on the spot.

Exercise is incredibly important to your physical and mental health, both in the short and long term. Don’t give up on it just because someone now calls you mom.
